The first time I visited Marbella, something got me. I could not quite explain it then — the light, the pace, the feeling that life here was being lived at a different speed. So I came back. And then I stayed.

When I first explored Marbella, everyone pointed me west — the Golden Mile, Puerto Banús, Nueva Andalucía. I understood the appeal. But when I discovered Marbella East, something clicked.
The best beaches on the Costa del Sol — white sand, crystal clear water. Pine forests reaching the sea. International schools within minutes. A real community — primarily German-speaking, Dutch and British — where people come for a holiday and never leave. And prices that still made sense.
But it is not just the beaches and the schools. Life here is genuinely active and full. World-class padel clubs, excellent gyms, horse riding, kitesurfing at Los Monteros beach, several golf courses — you can check them all in our Guides section — hiking trails, yoga on the beach — whatever your lifestyle, you will find it here. And for everything else, La Cañada Shopping Centre is just a few minutes by car. Restaurants, boutiques, supermarkets, cinemas — all within easy reach without ever touching the traffic of Marbella centre or Puerto Banús.
That was 2016. Today, with €1.5 billion in confirmed hotel investment arriving — Four Seasons, Waldorf Astoria, Ikos — Marbella East is about to change forever. The people who buy before that happens will have made one of the best decisions of their lives.
